Canvas and Jute Bags
The Canvas and Jute Bag Manufacturing Project caters to produce eco-friendly, reusable bags as a sustainable alternative to plastic, catering to growing demand in domestic and export markets. The product range includes shopping bags, tote bags, conference and school bags, gift bags, and promotional items, made from jute, cotton canvas, dyes, threads, zippers, and other accessories with a space requirement of 300 to 1,200 sq. ft. The manufacturing process involves cutting, stitching, printing, and finishing, using machines such as industrial sewing machines, cutting tables, screen or digital printing units, and eyelet punching tools. A small unit can produce 500 to 1,000 bags per day depending on manpower and design complexity, and production can be scaled with semi-automation. The estimated machinery cost ranges from ₹3 to ₹15 lakhs depending on facilities. With increasing awareness of sustainability and global demand for eco-bags, the business offers excellent potential through sales to retail stores, corporate clients, exhibitions, e-commerce platforms, and export buyers.
