Paper Bag Manufacturing
The Paper Bag Manufacturing Project in West Bengal focuses on producing eco-friendly, biodegradable paper bags to meet the growing demand across retail, food, medical, and garment sectors as a sustainable alternative to plastic bags. The product range includes grocery bags, food-grade paper bags, pharmacy bags, shopping bags, and custom-printed promotional bags, made using craft paper, recycled or food-grade paper, glue, ink, and handles like paper rope or flat strips. Ideal locations for the unit is urban and Semi urban areas with a requirement of 500 to 1,000 sq. ft. of space. The machinery setup includes paper roll feeding units, bag forming machines (manual to fully automatic), pasting machines, optional printing units, and packaging systems. A small-scale plant can produce 5,000 to 10,000 bags per day, while fully automated units can reach outputs of up to 50,000 bags daily. The estimated project cost ranges from ₹10 to ₹25 lakhs. With the ban on plastic bags and increasing demand from bakeries, restaurants, pharmacies, garment shops, shopping Mall, e-commerce service providers and government eco-initiatives, the business holds strong market potential.
