A distilled water manufacturing unit for battery use is a low-investment, high-demand project, especially where automotive and inverter battery usage is widespread. The essential machinery includes a water distillation plant, storage tanks, Water lifting pump, filling machines, and capping & sealing units. The cost of machinery typically ranges between ₹2 to ₹4 lakhs depending on the level of automation and capacity. A small-scale unit can produce around 250-1000 liters per hour. The primary raw materials include filtered tap water or borewell water, chemical-grade filters, and plastic containers or bottles (usually 1L, 2L, or 5L). The area required is around 300 to 800 sq. ft., preferably with a clean and contamination-free environment. The distilled water can be sold to battery dealers, Petrol Pumps, automobile garages, inverter service providers, and through retail and wholesale distribution channels. The product is primarily used for topping up lead-acid batteries used in inverters, cars, motorcycles, solar systems, and emergency power backups to ensure long life and efficient battery performance.
