Tyre Retreading
The Tyre Retreading activity leverages advanced machinery like tread building machines, buffing machines, curing chambers, inspection spreaders, skiving machines, shearography testers, and work tables to refurbish worn tyres for trucks, buses, light commercial vehicles, and off-road equipment. A semi-automatic setup costs Rs. 10–15 lakh, while a fully automated unit ranges from Rs. 20–35 lakh, with a capacity of 6–12 tyres per 8-hour shift. The process involves inspecting worn tyre casings, buffing to remove old tread, repairing damages, applying bonding gum and pre-cured or camelback tread rubber, curing under heat and pressure, and final testing for adhesion, air retention, and structural integrity. Raw materials include Tyre casings, tread rubber, adhesives, repair patches, solvents, and curing envelopes. Requiring 1,000–1,500 sq. ft. for machinery, curing, storage, and inspection, a small unit can yield Rs. 40,000–1,50,000 monthly profit based on volume and contracts. Retreaded tyres, meeting strict safety standards, are sold to fleet operators, transport agencies, and construction firms.
